Three Tuesday Evenings
7:00-8:30pm
Many of the greatest poets in the English-speaking world have taken on the often excruciating challenges confronting us all when we wrestle with biblical texts. These three sessions will focus on closely reading one such poem each week, each one midrash-like in its seeming contemplations of Genesis' creation story. The schedule for the poems we'll be reading is:
1/7/25: Emily Dickinson, "The first Day's Night had come"
1/14/25: William Butler Yeats, "The Sorrow of Love"
1/21/25: Derek Walcott, "Adam's Song"
